Temecula Wineries
Temecula is the site of one of the oldest wineries in California, and the Temecula Valley continues to be a small but significant wine production center. The hotter climate is particularly well-suited to grapes such as the Rhone varietals and Zinfandel, and less well-suited to growing Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
Less than 60 miles north of San Diego and 90 miles southeast of Los Angeles lies Temecula Valley Wine Country, the heart of California's South Coast wine region. Rolling hills covered with vineyards, expansive views reaching to 11,000 foot high mountains, air swept by ocean breezes, and world-class wines make Temecula Valley Wine Country a beautiful and fun area to visit.
These wineries produce award-winning wines made possible by unique microclimate and well-drained granite soils. The 1500 foot elevation makes for cool summer nights, and delightful breezes come through the vineyards every afternoon throughout the summer.
Not only will you find many of the finest wineries in the Temecula Valley, but there are also many beautiful custom homes located on spacious country lots with spectacular views in Temecula's wine country.
- Alex's Red Barn Winery The twenty five acre estate vineyard is farmed by the Yakut family. It was developed forty years ago by land developers to demonstrate the area's wine grape growing capability to potential land purchasers. The Yakut Estate Vineyards are now famous for the quality of their grapes and wines
- Baily Vineyard & Winery was established in 1986 by Phil and Carol Baily with the goal of producing a very small quantity of excellent wine from their own grapes to be sold primarily out of the winery

This winery is worth venturing off of Rancho California Road for, they're on Monte de Oro Road, you'll love everything they've got for you to taste, and the view's not bad either! We waited 2 years to get in their wine club, and it was worth the wait!
